This evening while watching TV
I sit and cry and think of you
To this day, your dad has succeeded in
Keeping us apart
But someday you will be with your dad and me
And you are always in my heart.
One These evenings when I am down
I sit and wonder, was this really a mistake?
There is a proverb that states:
For every great success
There is it's shadow of tragedy.
I must say my son, my success
Far outweighs my tragedy
Not a day goes by that I
Do not plan my life for you
Not a day goes by that I
Do not have big dreams for you.
My days are no longer spent in bitterness
Of what your dad has done to us
But of the thankfulness of life
That God has given you me
Oh that my own mother
Would have fought so hard for me.
My son, you must understand,
You will never hear one bad word
About your dad from me
What you read, what you hear
Will probably be another thing.
For today, I have come to understand
It was not the best mistake I ever made
But the greatest success of my life
I prayed so hard for you
And when God granted me my request
I dare not complain about a thing.
