Is it true ....
http://www.ncsbn.org/research_stats/
They break it down into three catagories:
NCLEX results ...
When the Computer shuts off...
Foreign Nurses...
No this is not true. At the end of the exam, a message popped up onto the screen that stated that my exam had ended and I needed to answer several survey questions before I left. This is done because the NCLEX keeps track of the national passing average. You can check out the average yourself at this site:
All Candidates
First Time Candidates Vs. Repeat Candidates
US Educated Candidates Vs. Foreign Educated Candidates
Please remain calm. It takes anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks to find out your results depending on where you live. If you live in the Western part of the United States, the results seem to take longer. You can click here to see if your results are available online. If the answer is not here, I am very sorry but you'll have to hang in there and believe in yourself.
The National Board of Nursing does not break the NCLEX down into this type of stat. Click here to understand how the NCLEX works and why and where it shuts off. There are stats available but they pertain to the National overall passing rate. For the most resent stats or you can do your own search [RN vs LPN or first time canidates vs repeat takers] on the passing rate, by clicking here.
People have emailed me and told me that you do not need the CGFNS exam in the following States: New York, California, Goergia, Hawaii and Florida. I just got a reply from them regarding NCLEX requirements and they said that they require all foreign nurses to take CGFNS first before they can take NCLEX. However, you don't have to take CGFNS anymore if you already passed the NCLEX from other States.
Out of necessity more so than out of my own personal knowledge, I have put together a website for Foreign Nurse Employment in the US of A. There are some States that do not require the CGFNS but you must check with the State Board of Nursing in the State you plan on taking the NCLEX in. For further information now, please go to the above mentioned site and click on "message from the president" of Immigration Specialties. Due to my limited knowledge on Foreign Nurse Employment, you need to direct your emails with futher questions to a Philipino nurse, stationed in California, who has been through the process. His name is Ezekial and his email is webmaster@serve2care.com or the President of Immigration Specialties.
