Well, I will beginning speaking classes for the IELTS / TOEFL students.
The first class will just be an introduction on what to expect on the IELTS / TOEFL. Remember your speaking score is based on:
1. Clear and understandable speech.
2. Accurate use of grammar and vocabulary.
3. 0rganization and development of response.
The IELTS Speaking Section has three parts and will take 11- 14 minutes to complete.
PART 1: 4 – 6 general questions. No longer than 5 minutes.
PART 2: Cue card question. You will have one minute to prepare your answer. You will have two minutes to talk about your answer. ( Take notes as you are preparing your answer ) No longer than 3 minutes.
Part 3: 4 questions related to the Cue card question. No longer than 6 minutes.
I was told that for the IELTS, the speaking section took 15 minutes and for the TOEFL, the speaking part took 20 minutes.
So my first class for the speaking section for both the IELTS and the TOEFL will be an introduction of the structure of the test and what to expect on the test and a question and answer time at the last 15 minutes of the class. If you missed the class you may view it ( [ here ]. )
All the other classes will will be practicing speaking and you will be timed just as if you were at the actual testing center. I know this can make an individual nervous so the only way to get rid of these nerves is to practice, practice, practice!
